An autopsy on a one year-old child might have weeded a few out or maybe a debridement on a badly burned patient. Do they have smell-a-vision?

@George-K said in RIP Polio Paul: Living your life on a bed, even with the most meticulous care is a set up for urinary tract infections, pressure sores, sepsis... I'm amazed he lived that long. I’m amazed he wanted to.

Remember the anonymous essay in the NYT written by a "senior administration official" about how adults in the room were working together to thwart parts of Trump's agenda? Sounds a lot like an insurrection. And I do NOT use that word lightly. Anyway, he got hired at google after he unmasked himself in 2020. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/05/opinion/trump-white-house-anonymous-resistance.html

I think I see the turnaround. Music Catalog Sale In January 2021, Neil revealed that he had sold a 50% stake in his music catalog for $150 million. He sold half the copyright and income to roughly 1,120 songs to an investment firm called Hipgnosis. Spotify Joe Rogan Feud In January 2022, Neil posted a letter to social media and his website in which he gave >Spotify an ultimatum in which they either remove his music OR remove Joe Rogan's podcast. He made the demand because he believes Rogan's show spreads vaccine misinformation that leads to preventable deaths. In the end, Spotfiy chose not to remove Rogan's podcast and therefore Neil made good on his threat. Interestingly, at the time of the threat Neil didn't actually own his master recordings – the right that gives someone the ability to decide where music is licensed (for example, on Spotify). Warner Music owns his masters and essentially did him a favor by forcing Spotify to take the music offline. The real loser in this decision is Hipgnosis which, as we just mentioned, had just paid $150 million for 50% of his royalty stream. Royalty streams are generated on platforms like Spotify. https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/rock-stars/neil-young-net-worth/

@Jolly said in The Death Penalty Is Legal In Missouri: definitely create academic wastelands It might be some motivation for the students assigned to the wasteland. If it isn't, they are probably in the right place.

I do not see why this matter needs to be legislated at any level of government. It’s a policy matter for the individual sports organizations to determine without government interference.

@Horace said in Kansas City Karma: there's a thriving job market for the masses of cultural pundits with journalism degrees or journalism ambitions. There isn't. This was an outright lie told with the intention of fueling the audience's hatred for journalism generally, not just these particular dipshits.

@Klaus said in "My a**hole makes more than your mother. ": FWIW, a career in porn is certainly not something I would recommend to anyone. That said, if I had to review job applications and I had to decide between a former porn star and a graduate in queer dance therapy, I'd certainly choose the former. This might be the best straw man ever. Klaus wins the internet today.

@Jolly said in Wannabe Dictator: Well, he may be unfit, but at least he knows what a fax machine is... Possibly but whether the he ever knew how to use one is entirely another matter. Which reminds me, talking about technology…… ….your media darling, FuCa, was absolutely fascinated by the those automatic sliding doors in the one Moscow grocery store he visited. The chained carts really tickled his fancy as well. That FuCa, eh? Too bad his stardom didn’t coincide with the late night airings of the Merv Griffin Show.

@Doctor-Phibes If they put lamb in it no one could afford it. If they used mutton no one would eat it. I agree though about the sweet corn. That’s why we make from scratch at home using beef. I cannot abide the smell of lamb in the oven.
